WATERGATE BAY

Watergate Bay
Watergate Bay is on your doorstep, so from the moment you arrive, the Atlantic Ocean and the rugged coastline are an ever-present reminder that you are somewhere where nature rules. Two miles of golden sand where you can watch the ever-constant breaking waves roll in and out and stare at stunning sunsets throughout the year.
There are great places to eat and drink here, including Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Cornwall and Zacry’s at the Watergate Bay Hotel. The Beach Hut is located right on the sand and is a great place to enjoy a bowl of fresh, local mussels and watch the surfers catching waves.
The beach itself is glorious and never gets crowded. The children will enjoy exploring the wealth of exciting caves and rock pools. Watergate Bay is also one of the few year-round dog friendly beaches.
Watergate Bay is one of the best places in the UK to get involved in some thrilling watersports, thanks to the long-breaking tide and Extreme Academy, a school for surfing, kitesurfing, waveski and stand-up paddlesurf. Grab some lessons (group or one-to-one), get out there and give it a go!
There’s so much going on at Watergate Bay throughout the year. From live music and farmer’s markets to surfing and ‘Polo on the Beach’.
Check our blog for more information on what’s going on in 2016.
