ENDLESS SUMMER
Newquay’s foodie hotspots
If you are planning a stay with us at ChloBo Cottage you might want to head into Newquay at some point. Thanks to a wealth of recent developments, Newquay has been losing it’s party image and becoming a bit of a hotspot for great food. There are lots of really exciting restaurants and cafés serving delicious and different food, including Padstow’s very own Rick Stein. Here’s a few hotspots we recommend you should try:
1. Fistral Surf Co. (FSC)
Great little store for surf gear and clothing. Upstairs you’ll find a cool, retro American diner with a laid-back vibe, plus magnificent views over Newquay Bay. There is a large terrace where you can enjoy locally-sourced steaks, homemade burgers and real Cornish-sausage hot dogs whist watching the surf roll in. Head there at sunset – the views are stunning.
2. Rick Stein at Fistral
We love this place. It’s got such relaxing atmosphere and the views from the terrace across Fistral beach are amazing. It serve up the best fish and chips you’re likely to taste. The bit we find really exciting, however, is the Indian and Asian food from the ‘Curry Kitchen’ menu, inspired by Rick’s travels and recent ‘India’ TV show. We usually go for Lamb Karahi with pilau rice and Mussel Masala with chapatis. But other classics are the Pad Thai, Nasi Goring and Goan Curry. Mmmmnnnnn!
